Neuromodulation overview

Neuromodulation, also called spinal cord or peripheral nerves stimulation, is a treatment in which an implanted medical device intercepts pain signals and prevents them from reaching the brain. The device is a little like a pacemaker and has leads which are placed near the nerves in the spinal cord or on peripheral nerves.
Neuromodulation or spinal cord stimulation can be used to intercept and control pain signals in the spinal cord reducing pain.
